8 Beautiful, Budget Friendly Wedding & Event Decor Items That You’ll Use Again & Again
When you’re planning your wedding or event, the list of essentials keeps growing. You’ve printed table cards—now what will hold them: a frame, a clip, or something else? You’ve ordered a welcome sign—how will it be displayed? Adding easels, stands, vases, etc. to your cart can quickly add up and create unexpected budget line items.
For my events, these are go-to staples I always keep on hand—versatile, timeless, budget-friendly pieces that work for any occasion and can be reused again and again.
1. Fabric
Never underestimate the impact fabric can have on your event. A simple cheesecloth runner adds a bold pop of color at an incredibly affordable price. Its airy, flowing texture keeps the decor light and elegant while seamlessly introducing your chosen color palette.
2. Frames
A simple gold frame is endlessly versatile. I love their clean, effortless lines. For a more decorative touch, this ornate option brings extra character and a vintage feel. Use frames for signage or photo displays—an affordable, stylish way to add a personalized touch to your event.
3. Wicker Baskets
Wicker baskets are a great way to add texture and dimension to your event decor. This one is a favorite of mine - I love to use as a card box at the event or a container for a game/activity. After the event too, it looks great displayed on a shelf and holding cards and photos from your special day. The quality of this one is great too - looks high end with a glass top.
4. Bud Vases
I love a bold floral statement, but when you need to stretch your floral budget, bud vases are the smartest solution. These petite vessels deliver surprising color and texture. Keep a dozen bud vases on hand to assemble an effortless, eye-catching table setting in a snap.
These are some of my favorite bud vases:
5. Table Number Holders
These gold card holders are so versatile. Perfect for table cards, guest place cards, menu displays, photos, and more—keep a few on hand for any event. Affordable, durable, and reusable, they’re an easy way to elevate your setup.
6. Candles and Candle Holders
Candles are an affordable way to decorate for your event. Mix taper candles and votives to add personality—choose colored taper candles for a pop of color or classic white for a timeless feel. I particularly like pairing a colored taper with a white votive: it creates a clear focal point and makes a statement without feeling cluttered.
For taper holders, these are my favorite. As pictured, they have a low profile and classic feel. For votives, you can’t go wrong with these for a simple choice, or these for a more vintage inspired look.
7. Mirror
A mirror serves as the perfect signage piece. Write on it with a window marker, apply a peel-and-stick sign, or attach cards for seating assignments as shown below. Reusable for multiple events — and when the celebration’s over, hang it in your home as stylish decor. This is a pricier item, but for the multi-use aspect, I think you’ll definitely get your value per use.
8. Easel
An easel is an indispensable asset for any event—one investment delivers a dependable, graceful display for your signage. Placed at the entrance, it makes a polished first impression and establishes the tone for guests from the moment they arrive.
These are the go-to pieces you’ll reach for at every event—stylish, reliable, and budget-friendly. Add them to your collection and you’ll be perfectly prepared for any hosting occasion.
